Key takeaways
- Poshmark’s US fee is a flat $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% of the sale on sales of $15 or more. There is no listing fee and no separate payment processing fee.
- The buyer pays a flat $6.49 for the prepaid USPS Ground Advantage label, so shipping is not part of your fee and never passes through your earnings.
- Shipping discounts you offer, label upgrades for parcels over 5 lb ($5 up to 10 lb, $10 up to 15 lb) and Instant Transfer ($2) all come out of your earnings.
- A $14.99 sale leaves you $12.04, but a $15.00 sale leaves $12.00, so price just under $15 or comfortably above it.
- At $15 or more you keep 80% of the sale price, so list at the amount you want to earn divided by 0.8, then leave room for offers.
How much Poshmark takes from a sale
Poshmark charges US sellers one commission per sale. Its help centre puts it simply: under $15, Poshmark takes a flat $2.95 and you keep the rest; at $15 or more, Poshmark takes 20% and you keep 80%. These are the rates on Poshmark’s fee page in November 2026.
The commission is worked out on the final sale price, after any offer you accept or price drop you make. Listing is free, and there is no extra card processing charge on top. The fee comes out of your earnings automatically, so you never pay Poshmark a bill for a normal sale.
Shipping is not included in the fee. The buyer pays Poshmark for the label at checkout, so the commission applies to the item price only. That is the main way Poshmark differs from eBay and Mercari, which charge their percentage on shipping as well.
Fee = $2.95 if the sale price is under $15 Fee = Sale price × 20% if the sale price is $15 or more Earnings = Sale price − Fee − Any shipping discount or label upgrade you pay

What a seller keeps at different prices
Here is the standard fee at several sale prices, with no shipping discount and a parcel of 5 lb or less. The last column shows the fee as a share of the sale price, which is where the $2.95 flat fee hurts cheap items.
- Below $14.75 the flat $2.95 is more than 20% of the price would be, and on an $8 item it takes more than a third. Only from $14.75 to $14.99 is it slightly cheaper than 20%.
- At $15.00 the fee jumps from $2.95 to $3.00, so a $15 sale leaves 4 cents less than a $14.99 sale. Above $15 you keep 80 cents of every extra dollar.
- To earn a set amount at $15 or more, divide it by 0.8. To keep $40, the item needs to sell for $50.
| Sale price | Poshmark fee | You keep | Fee as a share of price |
|---|---|---|---|
| $8.00 | $2.95 (flat) | $5.05 | 36.9% |
| $14.99 | $2.95 (flat) | $12.04 | 19.7% |
| $15.00 | $3.00 (20%) | $12.00 | 20.0% |
| $25.00 | $5.00 (20%) | $20.00 | 20.0% |
| $40.00 | $8.00 (20%) | $32.00 | 20.0% |
| $75.00 | $15.00 (20%) | $60.00 | 20.0% |
| $150.00 | $30.00 (20%) | $120.00 | 20.0% |
Who pays shipping on Poshmark
Poshmark charges the buyer a flat $6.49 shipping fee per order and emails you a prepaid USPS Ground Advantage label. You print it, pack the item and drop it off. The $6.49 never appears in your earnings, so it is not commissioned and you do not need to price it in.
The label covers a parcel up to 5 lb. A buyer who adds several items from your closet to one bundle pays a single $6.49, as long as the package stays within 5 lb. If it goes over, the extra postage is the seller’s cost.
Poshmark releases your money within 3 days of delivery, once the buyer accepts the order or it is accepted automatically. You must ship with the label Poshmark sends you.
Discounted shipping: what it costs the seller
You can offer buyers cheaper shipping in three places: a listing shipping discount set on the listing, a discount attached to an Offer to Likers, or a discount included in a private bundle offer. Poshmark’s help centre is clear that every shipping discount is deducted from the seller’s earnings. Poshmark does not share the cost on ordinary sales.
The discount comes off after the commission, dollar for dollar. Your 20% is still worked out on the item price, not on what is left after the discount. The most a shipping discount can cost you is the full $6.49 label, if it brings shipping to zero.
Offer to Likers has its own rules. The offer must be at least 10% below the current price, or at least 10% below the lowest offer a liker has had in the last 90 days, and a shipping discount is optional. If the buyer counters, they lose the shipping discount.
| Step | Working | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Sale price after the offer | $50 less 20% | $40.00 |
| Poshmark fee | $40 × 20% | $8.00 |
| Earnings with no shipping discount | $40 − $8 | $32.00 |
| Earnings if shipping is made free | $32 − $6.49 | $25.51 |
Bundles, offers and price drops
A bundle is one order, so Poshmark charges one commission on the bundle total and the buyer pays one shipping fee. That is the best way to sell cheap items. Three $10 tops sold separately each pay the $2.95 flat fee and leave you $21.15 in total. Sold together as a $30 bundle they pay 20%, $6.00, and leave you $24.00.
You can set an automatic bundle discount for buyers who take 2 or more items. Even with a 10% bundle discount, the three tops sell for $27, the fee is $5.40 and you keep $21.60, still more than selling them one by one.
Offers and price drops do not add a fee, but they change the fee because it is a share of the final price. Accepting $40 on a $50 listing lowers the fee from $10 to $8, and your earnings from $40 to $32. When you set your listing price, work back from the lowest offer you would accept.

Heavy parcels, Posh Shows and other charges
Parcels over 5 lb need an upgraded label, paid from your earnings. Since October 26, 2026, if you ship an overweight parcel without upgrading, Poshmark deducts the extra postage from your earnings anyway, so weigh before you ship.
- Labels support up to 15 lb. For a heavier bundle you can split it into boxes and buy an additional label for each, also from your earnings.
- Posh Shows: Poshmark does not list a separate host fee. Sales in a show follow the same fee schedule, so a $5 Low Start auction that closes at $5 pays the $2.95 flat fee and leaves you $2.05.
- Texas sellers: since October 1, 2025, Poshmark deducts a Texas Seller Fee Tax of the local sales tax rate on 80% of its fee. At an 8.25% rate, a $40 sale with an $8 fee costs another $0.53.
- Cashing out: direct deposit and paper checks are free, PayPal and Venmo cost $0.35, and Instant Transfer to a debit card costs $2 per transfer.
| Package weight | Seller cost |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 lb | Free (buyer’s $6.49 covers it) |
| 5.01 to 10 lb | $5.00 |
| 10.01 to 15 lb | $10.00 |
| 15.01 to 25 lb on a single label | $15.00 |
| Over 25 lb on a single label | The full USPS cost |
Working out your real profit
Your earnings are not your profit. A seller buys a jacket at a thrift store for $12, lists it at $65 and accepts $55. The parcel weighs 6 lb, so it needs a $5 upgrade, and the seller cashes out with Instant Transfer.
- The seller keeps $25.00 of the $55 sale, a 45.5% margin. Using free direct deposit would make it $27.00.
- Add packaging, mileage to thrift stores and the time spent listing if you want a full picture. Run the same sale on other platforms before choosing where to list.
| Item | Amount | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| Sale price | $55.00 | $55.00 |
| Poshmark fee (20%) | −$11.00 | $44.00 |
| Label upgrade (6 lb) | −$5.00 | $39.00 |
| Cost of the jacket | −$12.00 | $27.00 |
| Instant Transfer | −$2.00 | $25.00 |
Is Poshmark expensive compared with other marketplaces?
On the headline rate, yes. 20% is higher than Mercari’s 10% or eBay’s 13.6% for most categories. But those platforms charge on shipping too, and you buy the label from what the buyer paid. Once postage is counted, the gap is smaller than it looks, and Poshmark can come out ahead when your real postage costs more than the shipping you would charge.
