  3. 3Add each product or service with its quantity and price. Add more lines as you need them.

  5. 5Click "Save as PDF or print". In the print window, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination.

What an invoice should include

A clear invoice gets paid faster. Include your business name and contact details, the customer's name, a unique invoice number, the issue date and due date, a line for each item with quantity and price, the total, and how to pay you.

Some places require more. Businesses registered for VAT in the UK or EU must show their VAT number and the VAT amount, and some US states expect sales tax to be listed separately. Put registration numbers in your details box so they appear under your name.

How the totals are worked out

The invoice adds up each line, takes off any discount, applies the tax rate to what is left, then adds shipping. If part has already been paid, it shows the balance still due.

Total = (Subtotal − Discount) × (1 + Tax rate) + Shipping

Your data stays on your device

This invoice maker runs entirely in your browser. Your draft is saved in this browser so you can come back to it, and the PDF is created by your own browser's print function. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.

Example invoice

A web designer bills a client for a small website project with 8% sales tax.

Website design, 1 × $1,200$1,200.00
Hosting setup, 1 × $150$150.00
Subtotal$1,350.00
Sales tax (8%)$108.00
Total due$1,458.00

The client sees each item, the tax and the total, with a due date 14 days from the invoice date.

Frequently asked questions

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no limit on invoices, no watermark and no paid version. The site is supported by ads, which never appear on your invoice.

How do I save my invoice as a PDF?

Click "Save as PDF or print". Your browser opens its print window; choose "Save as PDF" (or "Microsoft Print to PDF" on Windows) as the printer, then save. Only the invoice is printed, not the rest of the page.

Is my invoice saved?

Your current invoice is saved in this browser automatically, so it is still there if you close the tab. It is not stored on our servers, so it will not appear on another device. Save a PDF of every invoice you send.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Click "Add your logo" and choose a PNG, JPG, SVG or WebP image under 1 MB. It appears at the top of the invoice and stays in this browser only.

What currency can I use?

Any of the main world currencies, including US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand dollars, pounds, euros and Swiss francs. Amounts are formatted for your browser's language.
