Know what you keep from each sale
Marketplace fees, payment processing, advertising and shipping each take a slice of every order. Individually they look small; together they often take 10% to 25% of the sale, and more when a sale comes through paid ads. The calculators here add every fee up so you can see your real profit per order before you set a price.
Each marketplace charges differently. eBay takes a percentage of the whole sale including shipping and tax, plus a per-order fee; Poshmark takes a flat fee or 20% of the price; Mercari 10% of price and shipping; Depop, in the US, only payment processing; TikTok Shop a referral fee; and Etsy a mix of listing, transaction and processing fees. Running the same item through two or three of these calculators shows which platform leaves you the most.
Check fees against your own account
Fee schedules vary by country, plan and payment method, and providers change them. Our tools are pre-filled with published standard rates and show when we last checked them, but every field can be edited. Copy the rates from your seller dashboard or a recent statement for the most accurate answer.
Shipping costs depend on size as well as weight. Large, light parcels are often charged by dimensional weight, so it pays to measure your boxes and choose the smallest that fits.
